hi all:) I am from upstate ny and am related to the Kirley family that settles in Highmarket/Boonville NY in or about 1840. I, like Renee Kirley Gonseth, am related to Edward Kirley whose name is inscribed on the church bell. How exciting. I have had no luck tracing these Kirleys in Ireland. the trail came to a dead end once I tracked them into Canada. Whew...anywho, we all know what fun that is:) my email is kevkel97@aol.com if anybody needs info or has info to give:)

My name by birth is Peter Ulric Kirley, I was adopted when I was about 6. I have been sort of trying to put together a family tree. I've also have been sort of searching for my sister who is either two years older or younger than I. I was told I was born in long Island NY, 06/17/45. My mother died of lukemia and my father had left her. My sister, I was told was adopted by one of the grand parents. I was adopted by Dorothy Yolanda VonGraeffin who married Robert E. Daniel during the adoption. The adoption was a death bed wish by my mother. Dorothy and Robert divorced and I have lost contact with Dorothy (we did not get along together).

I would like to be able to put together a family tree. Right now all I seem to have is a stump with a little new growth. I have one daughter and a grand daughter from my first marriage, two sons from my second and none from my third and final (so my wife says)marriage. I'm getting up in age and it would be nice to put together a family. I don't know if or where we may be related. If you would like to respond to this, My E-Mail address is pudaniel@yahoo.com

Thanks, and GOD Bless......

Peter

Hello! Just for fun, I did a search on my maiden name and found you! "My" Kirley family lives in upstate NY. A few of us have scattered around the country as well. It has only been recently that I realized there were a large number of other Kirleys out there. Growing up I had never met anyone other than my grandparents and their decendants with the name. It is indeed a small world. We may be related. I understand that my Irish ancestors came to America during the potato famine. They were traced to a ships manifest leaving Colb. A relative of mine has done extensive research and has pictures, documents, birth records etc. We believe that our family name may have been misspelled on the ships manifest because it was crossed out and rewritten. Perhaps it was spelled with a "C" at one time. I myself recently visited the Colb Heritage center in Dublin, Ireland on a vacation and found the name "Curly" quite prevelant.I could not find our spelling at all. It is a long and interesting story. There is a Kirley family church in upstate NY which was founded by one of my Grandfathers. I have seen pictures taken by one of my sisters. The church bell has the inscription of Edward Kirley. Each year there is a mass for all the decendants. I think it is in August. Best regards to all! Renee Kirley Gonseth

Greetings,

I'm a Kirley from Ireland and stumbled across this website. The Kirley/Kerley's here in Ireland are mainly based in the North East i.e Co's Louth and Monaghan. There is a small village in Co. Louth called Kilkerley. In Ireland the name is mainly spelled Kerley, but this seems to have transpired gradually from Kirley through the generations.

My g-g-grandparents are Michael (b1812 - d1890 and Bridget Kilday Kirley (b1813 - d1903)-married in Ireland, buried in St. Mary's Cemetary, Constableville, NY. They had 7 children. My g-grandfather was Edward J. (b1858 -d1931) and Eliza J. Dirreen Kirley (b1865 - d1925.) Some of Michael & Bridget's children were born in Canada. Was wondering if there was any connection with any Kirleys here. Thanks Regina (Kirley)Burke burke@erie.net

Aloha from Hawaii. We are Kirley's originally from Ireland. My grandfather Loftus Patrick Kirley was born in Ireland and immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. My father is also Loftus Patrick Kirley (Pat) and lives here in Honolulu with my mom, Joan. I have one brother Daniel Patrick Kirley who is an attorney here. I am married to Tim Newberry and we have one daughter, Kristen Elizabeth. We moved to Hawaii in 1970. I am now 40 years old (born in 1960).

My dad had two brothers (one deceased) and one sister. Philip J. Kirley lives here in Hawaii with his wife Patricia (Pat). They have eight children. Dad's sister Maureen is married to Lorne Caron and they live in Okatoks, Alberta, Canada. They have two children, John Caron (in Michigan) and Michelle Balug (Okatoks, Alberta). We are interested in hearing about any other Kirley's. To this date we have never met any others with our name/same spelling.

Aloha from Hawaii!!
